Long bio

“Stompin’ Dave is a master of all kinds of American roots...a formidable musician and a true original.” The Daily Telegraph.

“In other parts of the world they have cyclones, tornados and hurricanes, in the UK we have Stompin' Dave. Dave is a phenomenal artist. A great guitar player and vocalist, an accomplished songwriter and an excellent traditional fiddler, a boogie/blues piano player and a competition standard five-string banjo picker. As if that's not enough, he is also an outstanding dancer using a combination of flatfoot and clogging styles often when playing one of his stringed instruments.” Blues In The South

Described by Maverick Magazine as "one of the world's greatest performers" and with twenty five years of performing experience, Dave has worked exclusively as a self employed musician. A former member of former UK Blues Band of the Year, The Producers. Stompin' Dave was nominated for a British Blues Award in 2014.

Dave started to perform with the stage name of Stompin’ Dave fifteen years ago. Since then he has consistently given over one hundred performances per year, across the UK and beyond, including many major festivals, such as Glastonbury Festival, Camp Bestival, and Bestival, etc. In that time Dave has made well over two hundred festival appearances, and released over thirty albums.

Although Dave often performs solo he does from time to time perform with a variety of different friends, including his own various duo, and band line ups. Dave performed with Cut A Shine at the Royal Festival Hall, the Southbank Centre, on New Year’s Day this year. Dave also regularly appears as a sideman with award winning rock n roll and blues artist Earl Jackson. Earl was awarded Best Blues Singer 2017 byThe Jools Holland Boisdale Music Awards.

Dave has performed many concerts in art centres and theatres. Some of these concerts have been alongside touring musicians from the USA including the legendary Whitetop Mountain Band from Virginia, W.C.
